NSS Orchestra Performs: “African Suites”

Experience a powerful evening of orchestral music that celebrates the global influence of African traditions. The program opens with “African Suite” by Fela Sowande, that weaves traditional Yoruba melodies and rhythms into a Western classical framework. The second half features “African Suite” by Abdullah Ibrahim and arranged by Daniel Schnyder, a dynamic contemporary composition that blends jazz-influenced harmonies with rhythms inspired by African musical traditions.
